Head Injury Protocols

If Students sustain a head injury while at school the following protocols will be taken:

  • The Student will be observed in the health room for 30 minutes, ice will be applied and a phone call will be made and an email sent to guardians.
  • Paperwork will be completed and sent to the teacher for the information, and also sent home with your students.
  • A record of the incident will be documented in Infinite Campus.

As we observe your student we are watching for the following symptoms:

  • Headache that is worsening
  • Light and/or noise sensitivity
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Confusion and or memory concerns
  • Fatigue
  • Vision changes, such as blurred vision
  • Changes in personality, behavior or mood, and/or irritability

Should any of the above symptoms happen guardians would be notified immediately.
